间接疑问句(reported question)

可以用ask, wonder, want to know之类的动词来转述疑问句.

Wh-疑问句

直接引语和间接引语中的wh-疑问句都有when, what, which, how之类的词

• When did you start acting, Melissa?(直接引语)

• Guy asked Melissa when she started acting.(间接引语)

• How can we find out? I was wondering how** we can find out.

yes/no疑问句

用if/whether.

• Has the taxi arrived yet?
• Someone was wondering if/whether the taxi has arrived yet.

在间接疑问句中, 主语像在陈述句中那样位于动词之前.

索要信息

为了礼貌地索要信息, 有时在Could you tell me ...?或Do you know ...?之类的短语之后用一个间接疑问句.

• Could you tell me what time the concert starts?

时态变化

在间接引语中, 常有时态、代词等的变化.

• We asked what the problem was.
• Tom asked if Nick needed a gift.
